Remembering my good friend Carlos de Ameida of Portugal, RIP...

RE:POST

Blogosphere is giving me so much delight from the off and because this has been my passion, I do enjoy it immensely. And it widens my vocabulary not only whetting my mind to glean wisdom from many people and from there sagacity is developing into mounds and mounds of wisdom. We learn from others not only from our experiences alone. We do inherit some friendship from this blogging world. And I am blessed to gain friends...many friends. One I always do remember was my 53 yo friend named Carlos from Portugal. He spoke Portuguese and English fluently. We exchanged friendly emails mostly lightly and about people around us and how he had lived alone and how he had to drive long hours just to see his mother living away from him. I laughed when he would send jokes and some music videos, oldies of course. He shared some funny moments of his life, telling jokes about his heater, and would tell tales about his childhood and the place where he was born.

It made me sad of course when he died. He was such a good friend. A great lost. My friend who loved eating chocolates. My friend who suffered painful reflux fits. My friend who would always find a place in my heart.

Oh dear Lord...

You know what is in my heart from the off. Thank You for always guiding me to go straight and always helping me keep my mind in the right frame,so to speak. Sometimes, I would think I needed much more discernment to make the right decision and or judgment over matters that's too heavy for my shoulders. I always seek Your help and You have made me a better person that I am today with all the battles I faced head on...still there's a lot more. Thank You Lord for all of these which make me forever grateful...

At this point I know God that You again is the one who knows my heart's desire. Please help me now...give me  enough wisdom and more and more courage to tackle everything.

Without YOU oh Lord, am nothing and helpless.

I most need Your help now...

AMEN!!!

Helicopter parent

We as parents, should make it a point to do some mental inventory on how we can assess ourselves as parents. How does one fare as good parent? Do we keep track on how our children behave outside? Are they good children even without us to supervise them whether or not they behave properly? For me a dutiful mother is one who follows every step her child makes without making herself tagged as helicopter mom or parent. Yes we can do that by having a strong foundation built with trust and love wherein the child is free from our hovering nags and fault-findings. Cultivate and nurture the friendship ties between you and your child so as not to make him feel that you are trying to manipulate them and making them feel like puppets. It can be done, if you try your most. Of course no child will feel good when the parent is hovering.
